Al-Islah Orphanage, Wadi Rahma situated at Kodiyathur was established in 1989.It is run by the Islahiya Association, Chennamangallur. The Islahiya Association has grown to the stature of pace-makers of social service in this small part of the world called Wadi Rahmah (The Valley of Mercy). Al-Islah orphanage is the ideal home of many an orphan and destitute whose lives seemed bleak after the loss of their loved ones. Once inside the security of this noble institution, their paths are lightened with intellectual, spiritual, physical and cultural values. They look to the future with noble vision and splendid dreams.
Al-Islah orphanage stands singular in the sense that no other orphan care center has gained the achievements it has in both the academic and non academic field. About 200 orphans are enjoying the nectar of knowledge from the twin orphan care center located at Kodiyathur. Al-Islah orphanage remains committed to uplifting the social status of orphans. Besides formal education from school, the orphans are also given religious and moral education in the orphanage.Besides academics, students have facilities for adequate exposure to co-curricular activities. Weekly meeting of literary associations are conducted for skilled development of the students. The orphanage offers ample opportunities to students to develop a sound body which is essential for a sound mind. In connection with this, a very god convenient play ground is also used for sports and games training. Besides karate training for boys, training in tailoring are also imparted to girls.
Beacon of knowledge for the wingless birdsWadi Rahmah orphanage is always with the poor and destitute in their endeavor to reach new horizons of knowledge. Instead of exploiting the sad plight of these wingless birds Wadi Rahmah safeguards their interests and brings them forward to meet the challenges of the changing world scenario. Wadi Rahma also sponsors higher education for orphans and the destitute.

Wadi Rahmah believes that education is a process of emancipation, which should liberate the mind from ignorance and free the spirit from bias and prejudice and lead to the intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual development of a child. Wadi Rahmah offers an educational package that delivers a wide range of holistic experience to these students. Wadi Rahmah keeps with the ethics which is the very fabric of this democratic county.
